(REPLY) Sat Nam! I'm sorry that people are making fun of you, and I'm proud that you are keeping your hair and your beard! Good for you! but let me tell you something that you probably don't know: The reason for keeping the hair tied up on TOP of the head is so that the energy that the hair conducts is drawn to the higher centers of consciousness. Have you heard of chakras? Well, this is not imaginary, and so you would actually be helping your concentration if you can change your habit and keep your hair on top. Whether your friends and family mock you is immaterial as far as I'm concerned, what is important is for you to do what is going to benefit you, and in this case, you will be beter off with your hair on top. You know the saying "let your hair down" ? Well, even when playing ball, or maybe especially (!) you need to be able to think clearly, and what about the courageous Sikh soldiers in our history? They wore battle turbans and had their hair tied on top of the head under the turbans! I hope this makes sense to you, and you'll at least try it -- I know you're used to the other way, but try for 40 days, and see what a difference it makes! blessings, SP
