Summary of Question: | Want Legal Advice - Us Laws |

Whats worse is that my sister is using my conversion to Sikhism as an excuse for herself, although she does know that these are 2 different cases and scenarios. My parents were against my taking Amrit because they thought it was too early and suggested I do it after graduation. They were NEVER against it, just wanted me to do it later on, but I did it when I had to do it. However, her case is TOTALLY different. My parents will never ever accept this relationship. The guy is a Muslim and is clearly deceiving her. She is blinded by his sweet words, and says she will not convert to marry him, which I think is the most dumb thing for her to believe. Muslims will NOT marry a non-Muslim without converting him/her.
I want legal advice on this matter. This man is married and is having an extramarital affair with my sister. Under what conditions can he be prosecuted? He will not divorce his wife, I am sure of that too, and will only use, deceive and hurt my sister. I want to make sure my sister is out of his clutches. My parents are not in USA either, and I am not too sure what to do. Who can help me out? And how? I am the only Sikh in my family. I want to go ahead in a lawful way and not do something stupid in a fit of rage even though I am really really enraged at all this. I am trying to keep my cool. Please help me out. Its a question of my sister's life. Today she is seeing a fancy dream but tomorrow she will suffer hell.
Can I get contact of a lawyer or attorney who deals with such issues? Or, can I get some other valuable advice from you? I have returned here after 4-5 years, and your site has immensely helped me grow in Sikhi. I am hopeful of help this time as well.
I am looking forward to your response and help.

There is no one here at Sikhnet who is qualified to answer your question, so I am putting it out there to see if anyone else can answer it. Keep in mind that you may need to seek the advise of a lawyer. I would go to a Public Defender to start. Humbly, JJK
