I would just like to ask the sewadaars of this amazing sewa(Q&A forum) if they could guide me on a matter that im mentally battling with almost every day... I am currently trying hard to bring my focus back into sikhi again after a period of almost 4 years where i hardly read any bani and rarely did my ardaas (except in times of need eg exam period)
my query is that now that i am trying to return into my sikhi (I THINK) i wonder that when i do my ardaas whether it is important to speak the subject of my ardaas in punjabi or is it ok in english . i mean i recite the ardaas in punjabi but when it comes to the part where i ask waheguru of certain things like help during my exams should i speak in punjabi or can i ask in english - because unfortunately my punjabi isnt very fluent and i end up just saying the same thing every time but dont feel like i am really asking what i
want to ask...
im sure waheguru will still understand if i spoke in english yea? but at the same time i dont feel like i do the ardaas any justice if i speak in english - i feel a little confused
please excuse any ignorance
phul chuk di maaf..thanks
(REPLY) Sat Nam. I believe that God and Guru understand what is in your heart no matter what language you speak when you pray. Pray from your heart, and your prayer will be heard. SP
