Hari Singh is a beautiful name.

In Siri Guru Granth Sahib it is stated that one who remembers and dwells on the divine name of Hari shall be blessed and liberated of all suffering. The parents would remember Hari every time the child is called. And the child would also learn and appreciate the name of Hari. To develop the mind in this way is the reason Sikhs adopt sacred names for themselves. One becomes a Singh (Lion) of Hari, or a Kaur (Princess) of Hari (for example).

May all blessing flow to this new child of the Guru. And may whatever name is chosen always turn his heart and mind toward Guru's grace.
