why do we keep one matka with a coconut in red cloth near by guru granth sahib..

is it a manmat or a required standerd practice according to rehat marayada??
also waht is the importance of keping water in matka...

NO and No and No. This business of coconut and matka and water is NOT part of Siri Guru Granth Sahib's maryada during Akhand Paath or ANY other time. It is as you said, manmaat, and is mixing of hindu-istic practices with Sikhi.
