Summary of Question:Prophet of the Aquarian Age
Category:Other
Date Posted:Monday, 8/07/2000 7:09 PM MDT

I was just reading one of the responses written regarding the prophet of the aquarian age being Guru Nanak Dev Ji. I went to a Christian school and have spent probably more time studying the bible then the Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji, however I now am taking more time and effort into learning about my religion and am starting to read our holy book.

I was just curious, one of my cousins told me that the coming of Guru Nanak Dev ji was actually predicted in the bible. Is this true and when you refer to the prophet of the aquarian age is this what you mean.

Thanks, anticipating your reply

First of all, the Siri Guru Granth Sahib is not a book, it is not like the Bible. The Siri Guru Granth Sahib is written in songs. These songs or Shabds, have the power to give you the experience of God consciousness. You have to recite these songs, Jaap....or listen to these shabds, with all three trillion cells of your being.

The Aquarian Age is the time when you require experience in order to beleive. In the time of the Bible, the system was, show me the way, I will have faith.

The Aquarian Age began November 11, 1991. Guru Nanak rebelled against all the religious hypocrasy of the Hindu's and the Muslims. He taught us a way to God that all people could experience regardless of religion or caste. He guided us to see that God is in all His creation. He started what the 10 Gurus' evolved and completed by Guru Gobind Singh the path of the soldier-saint. This is the Rehit Maryada, which empowers a person to live in these Aquarian times above all the pressure and maya.

I do not know that the Bible predicts the coming of Guru Nanak. So, that is not what I meant when I referred to Guru Nanak as the "Prophet" or "Guru for the Aquarian Age".
