Sat Siri Akal Ji.
Gurdwara means "Guru's Door." Thus, going into a Gurdwara means you have entered the Guru's gate and are in Guru's presence. In a Gurdwara is where Sikhs worship the Siri Guru, and hold Gurdwara services.
I think from your question you want to know the main teachings of Sikhism. Please use Sikhnet site to search main teachings of Sikhism. You can search this Youth Forum, you can search the whole site, and you can search the Sikh seek web directory http://www.sikhseek.com/ to search on teachings of Sikhi. Keywords to use for searching could include: Sikhism, Sikhi, bani, rehat.
An online or library encyclopedia of religion will also outline the main teachings of Sikhism.
God bless you.
