A very minor addition to this debate on meat that has not yet been brought up. Yrs, Guru Hargobind and Guru Gobind Singh did go for Shikar. But the animals / birds that were killed were liberated from the 84 million cycle of birth and death. The guru sahibans even knew the previous births of the animals that they were liberating. BUT they did not eat the meat of these animals.
