Sat Sri Akal Ji

Thank you very much for answering my question on life after death. One of the answers mentioned Blue Ether. What is this? And what are the four levels that were mentioned? Also, is the Soul the subtle body that was referred to? Please let me know if there is any SIkh book related to this.

I am very pre-occupied with this issue. A few days ago, a sikh youth in our community was murdered. In such a case, what happens to the soul upon death?

Has any Sikh ever experienced an Out of Body Experience (OBE)?

I would also like to know the Sikh stand on abortion, where the fetus is diagnosed to be genetically defective such Down's Syndrome.

I will be grateful for any answers. Thank You.

*******************************************************************************
Abortion-no problem in first trimester of pregnancy as the soul does not enter the fetus until the 4th month or 120 days.

OBE: Anybody who meditates deeply will have an out of body experience. The physical body is only one of the ten bodies that we each contain.

The soul of the person murdered goes through the same process as any other death. The suicide is the one that has the problem.

The subtle body is the capsule that carries the soul. The soul leaves the body in the capsule of the subtle body. The subtle body reflects the clarity of your commitment, your Dharmic faith and your practice.

To a Sikh, death is a reunion with the Beloved Creator. It is a time of joy, because the soul has longed for this moment siince it was separated.

To the Sikh/Khalsa, this life is a constant opportunity to live in union with the Infinite. Man tu jot di saroop hai, apanaa muhl pachaan. Oh mind know that your source is the light of God! When you practice remembrance of God in life, you will be prepared to remember this uniom in death and proceed on your journey with ease.

You can read the book "Victory & Virtue" on SIkhnet, the section, Chapter 14 -"Death and Death Ceremonies" pg. 75
