Summary of Question: | Who Introduced Ardas? |
Category: | Gurbani |

I insisted one of my friend to do Ardas after PAATH. He asked me this that who has made Ardas , Do u know, In our Guru Granth Sahib We do not find Ardas Anywhere. According to him No guru has given us this approach to reach the god?
So I want to know exactly from where the way/procedure/format of Ardas came ?
Why can't we just talk to the guru in our natural way of expressions?
Waiting for the RESPONSE.
This site is really appreciatable.

The ardas as we know it today contains 3 parts. The first portion of the ardaas, where we acknowledge the 9+ Guru's, was created by Guru Gobind Singh.
The second part of the ardas, is our history from the times of the Guru's to the presant.
The third part of the Ardas is the prayer of the Sangat assembled.
Ardas' have been formulated and printed up in the nitnems by the SGPC and the Akal Takhat.
The Guru started the prayer and "we", the sadh sangat, get to take his prayer and finish it.
Also, please note the closing line of our Sikh prayer: Through Guru Nanak/Guru Gobind Singh may Thy Name forever increase and Your Spirit be exalted, and MAY ALL PEOPLE PROSPER BY THY GRACE. In our 'religion' we wish well to all and we pray for the well being of all.....all of God's Creation.
