Sat Siri Akaal. Clearly, it was OK for HER. It is not unusual for a bride to marry according to her groom's faith, when bride and groom are not the same faith. If you mean is it OK as a Sikh? 3rd Guru's test of marriage is this: "They alone are called husband and wife when they are one soul in two bodies" (ang 788). Seems to me that your aunt cared more about the marriage than about getting married in front of Guru. That's her choice, too. Nothing in Sikhi says that one is required to marry in front of Guru. In the USA, some Sikhs get married by a justice of the peace, not the Guru, that doesn't mean they aren't Sikh.
