I were recently asked at work what the meaning of the kara is, I obviously knew the answer so explained this to the person asking as well as I could. Later I got thinking...and now feel that i must know 'Which of the sikh guru's initiated th 5 K's?'.

Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa, Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh. The 5 Ks were given to us by 10th Sikh Guru, Guru Gobind Singh. They were given on the first Baisakhi Day 301 years ago, when Guru Gobind Singh first baptised the 5 Beloved Ones (Panj Piaray). The 5 Ks are part of the Sikh Code, Rehat Maryada. You can search "amrit" "5 Ks" "Baisakhi" and "Rehat" on either this Sikh Youth Forum as well as the Sikhnet site generally, if you desire further information.
