how can a person do karam (actions) when it is stated in the Shri Guru Granth sahib that a persons destiny is written right from birth.So how can one take responsibility of something they have no control over?

Some people have a destiny written on their forehead,and some people do not. That destiny can change depending on your actions and choices. You can draw God near or far.

Try studying and reading Jap Ji Sahib, the words of Guru Nanak, in English. Guru Nanak explains how to live in this life to have mastery and success.

You will have much more understanding of what the Siri Guru Granth Sahib is instructing us when you study it. Jaj Ji Sahib is the first composition in Siri Guru Granth Sahib. It is the foundation and is the seed from which the Guru is grown....the Guru explains in more detail what Guru Nanak says in Jap Ji Sahib.
