Summary of Question: | Eating of langar |

I am in full favor of the fantastic mentality in sikhism where by we all eat langar together with no boundries between the rich and poor. However you stated that the highest authorities of sikhism said that the use of benches was not permitted. In australia we have benches and these are to serve those members of the sikh (sometimes non-sikh) community who are not able to sit on the floor. The banning of benches completely contradicts this sikh theory by not allowing all members to eat together. How does a paraplegic, a person with arthritis, or a broken limb sit down to eat alngar?
cheers
