I was wondering if doing paath in the car while going home from work is bad...considering i have on my shoes and my hair is not covered. i lead a very hectic lifestyle and listen to shabads in the morning and do rehrass da paath on my commute to my home which is a good hour and a half with traffic. is it the thought that counts or is this bad?

Doing Path in the car works too. Keep your turban or dupatta handy in the car to drape over your head while reciting. The more you do the more you will benefit. There is no judgement here as to 'good or bad'. Your intention is to be observant.

Since you say your lifestyle is hectic......give yourself at least one time a week when you can sit down with your nitnem(Gurbani and English translation) and really focus and absorb yourself in your recitation. Taking the time to give yourself a deep experience of the power of Guru's bani will give you an experience beyond hectic....and untimately....give you deep peace and ability to rise above the frantic pace of your life. The place of God and Guru is when we become a "Human being" rather than a "human doer". So, work to live rather than live to work. Guru can take you away from the maya of time and space and give you a life of peace and joy......that is what 'chardi kala'is.

God bless you, SKKK
