Summary of Question:Sikh Dharma Same As Hindu Dharma?
Category:General Sikhism

Sat Sri Akal Ji,

I have question I want to ask.
My friends often say to me that the Sikhs are just Hindus because our "Dharm" is the same as the Hindus. Is this true?? What is the difference between Hindus and Sikhs?
When I say that they do pooja against stones ect. they are saying that the ksatriya bhakt is a form of the Hindus who don't do pooja at all. They say the Guru's followed this path.

I am really confusied because some Sikhs even say this is true.
Could you please help me with this?

Thank you.

a common misconception that is not true we are not Hindus as we do not worship many gods, idols or mnafestations. We worship the one guru the word that is truth. The god we worship is one with no shape, and is omnipresent.

We come from a people that were once hindu and also muslim but clearlywe are differnt. Culturally we come from india so there tends to be this misconception and hindus have convienently explained that we are part of them as we have prtected their ability to practise their faith in the past.

I hope that helps
