Category:Other
Date Posted:Tuesday, 7/30/2002 5:51 AM MDT

Guru Gobind Singh ji asked his sikhs to always wear Kachaira Specially designed for Sikhs. Do women have also to wear the same designed Kachaira or they can wear any type underwear. I think Guru ji wanted that every sikh should always wear a underwear. Is it necessary to wear the special designed Kachaira??

Have our Guru's ever forbidden girls from wearing sarees or Jeans. I think Women should be careful about her dress that it should not be vulgar (not exposing any of your body parts)And jeans and Sarees dont seem to be Vulgar.

Sat Siri Akal.

When it comes to how to dress - just work with what you have. I like to wear long white leggings and in the summer sometimes just long white stockings. Although I understand that kachairas do help regulate your body temperature, so there's a good reason to wear them. Still, until you find a way to feel graceful in them, leggings or stockings could be an appropriate substitute.

Jeans were not around in our Gurus' times. And remember that what is vulgar changes from culture to culture and through time and space. What is important is that you dress in a way that you truly feel represents your grace as a princess of Guru Gobind Singh. If you remember that you are royalty, and you dress to express and experience that royalty, you will be fine.

Hope this helps.

All love,

GPK
