hey, this is a question regarding your reply to drinking and doing paat, you said No and that it was disrespectful to the guru, and I was just wondering, that if you could still do paat if you eat meat. would this also be disrespectful to the guru.

thank you

(REPLY) Eating meat is disrespectful to your physical body! (and it affects the mind as well.) It leaves poison in your bloodstream (uric acid). A GurSikh is a vegetarian. The body is the living temple of God. It is given to us by God, it is disrespectful to pollute it. Anyone, even the greatest "sinner" can do paat, but it's like the elephant who bathes in the water, and then rolls in the dust. We do paat to clean and clear the mind, and get closer to experiencing God and Guru, so it's not very intelligent to then do anything that takes us farther away, and lowers our consciousness, such as drinking or smoking or eating meat, which are against the tenets of our Sikh religion.
