Summary of Question:	Showing Hair In Public

Our school band is going on a 4 night trip. I will be staying ith three other guys in a room. I kinda feel uncomfortable showing them my hair (when I go to sleep). Also, it is hard for me to sleep with my patka on sice it irritates my head. These boys, are pretty nice boys... so i do not think the will say anything. However, I do feel unconfortable showing them my hair. Any advice?

Sat Nam, Simerjit Singh Ji - You're right, don't sleep with your patka. Take your hair down at night and comb it properly and then put it back up in the morning. I actually think that your roommates will think your hair is pretty cool. When I've roomed with guys, they all think my long hair is cool, so I wouldn't worry about it. If they do kid you about it, just tell them the truth. Say, "I'm a Sikh and we don't cut our hairs because we leave our body in it's natural state just as God created it. We wear a turban to cover and protect the hairs and keep them clean and neat." It's that simple. I often have other guys ask me to show them how I tie my full pug and they think it's very cool.
