(REPLY) Sat Nam. The Guru is always with you. Problem is that you are not feeling His presence, and you hve the idea that the Guru is supposed to make everything simple and easy for you -- which is true to a certain extent, except that we each create our own karma, and have to learn our own lessons, and we often suffer for the choices that we have made. If we want the future to be better, then we have to do the things that will bring us more awareness of the Guru's presence, such as reading the banis every day, going to Gurdwara, and ideally reading in an Akhand Path as often as possible. Our Guru is a Shabd Guru, not a person or personality! Remember? And so it is in our speaking and reciting and singing the Guru's Words that we develop a relationship with the Guru that makes His presence more of a reality that we can feel and know in our experience. Just like the sun is always shining, the Guru is always there, but if there are clouds of our ignorance, or if we turn our backs on the sun, then we don't feel the warmth and support -- even though it is there. How are you raising your children? As Sikhs? Are you teaching them Sikh history? Forget about yourself, and focus on giving your children the values and virtues taught by our Sikh Gurus, and repeated for us in our Shabd Guru, the Siri Guru Granth Sahib. Keep praying for guidance, and it will come. May God bless you and Guru guide you and give you wisdom and courage. SP
