I am replying to the young lady who wrote about girls covering their heads. Obviously you want to see more girls following the "punjabi" culture, but I don't understand why us girls cant wear sari's, because truly, sari's are fun to wear, and i am sikh, and my mother is a sikh too, and she wore many sari's growing up. There is nothing wrong with wearing fashionable suits, because new fashions come to the taste of some girls, and it's completely ok to wear fashionable clothing. Also, wearing fashionable clothing has NOTHING to do with parental values. Maybe some parents have wishes for their children to engage in more east indian activities, but they cant just spank the kids til they do it. It is entirely up to the child to wear what type of clothing htey want to wear. Isn't it good enough for you that girls wear suits, even though they are on the fashionable side? It's the same thing about east indians going out of their way for gold, its all fashion too. It is ok for girls in the east indian culture to be on the fashionable side, because not many east indian girls have toher choices for things to do, like go out, cut their hair, and do other things. You cant just take tehir fashion priveliges away from them, because thats the only thing some girls look forward too.
Oh yeah, also, it doesnt matter about what you wear, becasue many girls who wear just plain simple suits might have bad attitudes, and might be sluts trying to put a good image to their hidden life. Its about the person, not the clothing. A girl wearing a saree may be more religious than a girl wearing a simple suit. Think about it!
