Wahe Guru Ji Ka Khalsa, Wahe Guru Ji Ki Fateh.
Loving the Naam is what takes you to the Divine - and the Naam is the vibration of the Divine Spirit within you. Every path can give you that experience. Guru Gobind Singh said, "Those who love God shall find God." There are so many different ways to love, no religion has a monopoly on it or can claim to do it better than another religion - but love is the key.
As far as the rebirth stuff - Guru Nanak says in Japji that we can't understand or know the limits of the Creator. So who knows? Anyone who claims to understand and explain rebirth- is just a talker. It isn't for us to know or understand these things. Don't worry about it. Just live your life the best you can and leave the outcome in God's hands.
Taking Amrit is commiting to living a very pure spiritual discipline. There are no guarantees that come with it. You make a commitment before your Guru and your Guru spends the rest of your life testing the commitment. So if you keep your commitment you will have a deep satisfaction in your soul. But what will you get out of it? Nothing. Everything. Who knows. It's not a commercial exchange. You give your head and see what happens. There's no reward for it except the reward that comes from honoring your own commitment throughout your own life. When a man or woman honors his or her word to the Guru under all the challenges of time and space - then that person is a Living Light to others. So it's a test of your soul to live your word unto death.
I hope this helps. Many blessings.
Wahe Guru Ji Ka Khalsa, Wahe Guru Ji Ki Fateh.
