Vaheguru jee ka khalsa, V aheguru Jee Kee Fateh

I am sorry i disagree with the moderators of this distingiuished forum in their recommendation that the only solution for the locks in the hair is to cut your hair.

I have had these locks and my mother has very very painstakingly removed them for me.

The solution is simple but it requires patience and help from another person.

The hair is first washed with soap / shampoo and while still moist my mother takes about 15-25 strands of hair (yes that little - but you could take more or less depending on the intensity of the locks and first comb at the very end of the hair the gradually move up centimeter by centimeter. Once you are at least 2 inches from the edge, you go up about 2 inches from the un knotted hair then twist the strands u have selected around ur finger and then comb downwards.

the purpose of this finger twist is that it reduces the strain on your scalp and u r less likely to feel pain in the scalp and it also reduces probability of the hair coming out.

this is the basic outline. and the process is repeated with newer and fresher strands

Me and my mum can help you with specific details to your case. At the end of the day it will take a max of 1- 2 hours to get your hair all unknotted.

So please consider this as an alternative...and remember the sikhs who got themselves cut up joint by joint and still did not cut their hair. They will inspire you, we will help you and the kalgidhar whose gift the kesh are, will protect you...

you can write to me directly at hargurmitsingh@hotmail.com for specific assistance.......
