Hi there, well i had this dream last night that i found the recipe to this indian dessert i used to have at gudwara when i was a youngster. I believe it is called prashad, buy i not sure if that is the correct spelling. It is light brown doughy, taste like it has honey, and peeled almonds, if i can remember. It is given during gudwara and it was put into our hands and then we bowed our heads down to it in thanx. If anyone knows what i am talking bout, please, can i have the recipe. I know this is strange question, but i swear i had a dream of it, so i really would like it, plus, it was quite scrumptious.

Sat Siri Akal. That is wild you had a dream about receiving Prashad, as it's called. You can find the recipe by searching this Youth Forum using keywords "making prashad".

Prashad is given to the Sangat after the Hukam is read. It is symbolic of the abundance and sustenance that we receive from the Guru, and that everything coming to us in life is the Guru's gift (prashad) and is therefore sweet.

This tradition of distribution of Prasaad was first initiated by Guru Nanak, to eliminate the class distinctions among members of his congregation by having everyone served from the same bowl.
