sorry, I should have searched first so please disregard my last question about Khaacha. I now have some new questions. hehe
Why do you have to wera them in the shower?
Wouldn't that make it more difficult to wash that part of the body?
If you have to reach your hand in there to wash and then let the water go down into them to rinse, why can't you just take them off to shower then immediately put fresh ones on when you get out of the shower and dry off?
Interesting note: Mormons also wear religious underwear that goes to just above the knees and is always worn. But they can bathe without them on. They are required to also wear a t-shirt type top as well though. (this I know from being raised in Utah..)
Can they have an elastic waste band or does it have to be drawstring? Can they have a slit in front like western boxers?

When you are showering in cold water it is important to have the 1)testicles protected from the cold water and 2) the thigh protected from the cold water.
The testicles should be kept away from direct coldness and the thigh controls the calcium balance of the body and needs insulation from the cold.
The other reason for wearing kacheras in the shower is for maintaining your sexual domain and modesty....if you are showering in public view. You can wear a bathing suit too in the shower if it covers the testicles and thighs.
Showering in warm water does not require you wearing your katchera.
