Summary of Question:	Donating Hair

I was wondering what the Sikh view was about donating hair to the kids who have been through cancer treatments and have lost hair. There are many non-profit organizations who help make a child's life happier (for example Locks of Love). I was just saying that I think that we can not explain to a little child that beauty isn't from the outside, but giving them hair will make them feel beautiful again. What are your thoughts? Is it okay if I want to do this, because I think that a little child's happiness, esp. the ones who have been through soo much, is more important than many otehr things.

If you cut your hair already anyway, then I don't see any problem donating your hair to Locks of Love; but, if you are cutting your hair only to give to such an organization, then you are compromising your values, which come first over any good cause. GTKK
