Summary of Question: | Numbers? |

Ok, no offense, but aren't Sikhs not supposed to believe in numerology? Rhetorical question:
Aren't we supposed to believe only in the teachings of the Guru Granth Sahib Ji (but also respect other beliefs!)?
Then how come this link talks about a "Sikh" woman who believes in #'s ? Like, on 05/05/05 I didn't go to the Gurduara espcially for the date, nor did I do anything on 9/9/99 nor on any other funny dates. How does this number stuff relate to Sikhi??

Isn't there room in our Sikh lifestyle for other things? This woman uses numerology...other Sikhs don't; some Sikhs use astrology...many Sikhs don't; some Sikhs go to Medical Intuitives for medical advise...many Sikhs don't. You said "respect other beliefs." There are lots of beliefs within our Sikh tradition. If we are so rigid with ourselves and with judging others, we will end up like other religions that are fanatical and rigid. I don't want to name any, but probably every religion has their fanatics. Religion has to be fluid as well as maintain its beliefs. Religion has to be an experience...not just a ritual. It has to make sense to its followers. It has to give hope and guidance...not dogma. Live your Sikhi as you feel is best for you, model it...and then be tolerant and kind to others (and your self). GTKK
