(REPLY) Sat Nam. In order to improve concentration, meditating on God's Name synchronized with the breath helps to calm the mind, and when the mind is calm, it can focus better and you can direct it better. There is an inseparable connection between your state of mind and your rate of breathing. the slower you breathe, the calmer the mind. The calmer the mind, the better the concentration. Therefore, by trying to breathe long and slow and deep - and linking each inhalation and exhalation to Gurbani (Wahe Guru or Sat Nam, or many other mantras) your mind becomes more under your control. In Siri Guru Granth Sahib there is a breath meditation practice described which in yogic terms is called Sodarshan Chakra Kriya. I will email the instructions to you separately. Blessings, SP
