Yestreday in sunday programme in Gurudwara here it was announced that for some elderly people its neccessary to keep chairs in Gurudwara and in langar also.I want to know if this is right in light of Maryada. Is it first time that elderly people are going to Gurudwara? and isnt it the way distortion of maryada starts? tommorow slowly this cult will extend to anyone who wanna use chairs in Gurudwara?
Please throw some light ..and if possible site some other places where this had been suggested and whether its accepted in any part of world for whatever reasons.

Chairs are not the form for Gurdwara. However, people in wheelchairs should not be barred from the Gurdwara or the Perkarma because of their disability. Some Gurdwaras have had the compassion and foresight to create a section of the Gurdwara where the floor is recessed (goes down lower) to allow people with infirmaties that must sit in chairs...but still be at the same level as the Sadh Sangat.
