Sat Siri Akaal. In 1431 pages, Siri Guru Granth describes how to know God: meditate on God's Naam (name). In 199 verses, 10th Guru Gobind Singh describes the deeds of God, for God is so great that one could not possibly have a single name for God, thus God is described by His (Her) deeds. God is so vast, how can God be understood by a simple human mind. God can be known, but even Guru Nanak, who in Japji describes the universe and how all God's creation operates under God's Hukum,--even Guru Nanak knew that all he had seen by inner vision was not ALL that God is about. So the human's life is to recognize these truths, and understand that God DOES have a purpose for every human life. And while we might not understand exactly that purpose, by bowing to the God who operates within and around us in all beings and things, our purpose is served and realized.
Why people don't understand this? Because people come in all shapes, sizes, beliefs, and creeds, and may or may not be exposed to these truths. And for so MANY who are, their ego, there I-ness, gets in the way of understanding the Thy-ness or Godliness of who they are and why they exist.
You cannot understand these truths fully by mere THINKING. You have to have the experience, and the Siri Guru is all about this divine experience. I suggest you start a Sahej Paath of Siri Guru Granth and read a little bit daily. Don't try to understand it all at once, just keep reading (read both English and Gurmukhi) and the more you read, I promise you, the more you will understand. All we need to understand about life is in Siri Guru Granth. Go to Siri Guru. Sat Nam.
