First of all I would like to say this is a great service you provide, thanks.
Im not a very religious person but I respect Sikhism and I try to go to the temple at least once a week. I also do my prayers before I sleep every night.
There have been times when I have missed going to the temple for two weeks in a row and when that happens I always panic…..I always tend to think I have not done what I promised to myself I would do, therefore something bad will happen to me……….and now when I don’t go to the temple I have dreams of gudhwara’s and the Guru Granth Saab in front of me or pathis doing prayers. I always wake up thinking it’s a message to remind me I have not done what I said I would do …could this be???
I’ve always admitted im not one to follow my religion to the fullest, I have a boyfriend, I drink on occasions and live my life as I please but I always fear god in what ever I do, I believe you should be a honest person and never think bad of anyone and have faith in god and when I go to the temple I feel so much peace and connection with god.
Could these dreams mean anything more???
Sorry if this sounds silly but I have no one else I could ask.
Many thanks
(REPLY) Sat Nam. Dreams come out of the subconcious mind. They simply show you what is buried there. Obviously you feel guilty when you miss Gurdwara, so in a way, yes, your dreams are reminding you to go. As for how you are living your life otherwise, may I just suggest that you are wasting time by not reading Japji every morning, and all the other banis! This lifetime was given to you for the purpose of discovering and experiencing the soul within you, which is divine and immortal. It was not given to you to create more bad karma by drinking, etc. Everyone is born to die eventually, and what happens after that depends upon how wisely we use our time here on Earth. Think about how wonderful it could feel to live each moment righteously, being aware that God is breathing in you, and knows every thought, word and action of yours! Blessings, SP
