I am 21 years old Sikh male. Ever since I was young, I have seen my father as alcoholic and abusive towards my mother. I still have emotional problems due to all the things I have been through in my childhood. Now that I am an adult, I have hard time having relationship with anybody because I never have experienced a healthy relationship. I am a lonely person who have fears even when somebody tries to come close to me. Now I am trying to get closer to Sikhi but I have intense anger at my father even though Sikhi forbids Krodh. I have hard time trying to get over all the things he put me through when I was little. Can you give me any suggestions on how to get over this anger and move on with my life?

Spiritually, you can read from the Guru as much as possible. The Guru's bani can heal everything. I would also suggest that if you have a counselor available where you are that you go to one to help you release your anger and heal it. A good counselor can be like a coach to guide you through the process of knowing how to develop healthy relationships. You didn't get it as a child, so you will need to have someone help you reparent yourself, so to speak, to develop these skills. Let us know how you are doing. Blessings. GTKK
