I just want to add something to your reply. Hope u won't mind it. I wish that there was some way we could add replies to the questions asked on this forum. It is true that India's constitution declared Sikhs as Hindus along with Jains and Buddhists. You can read Article 25 to cross check. The constitution of India was not founded very long ago in history. It has only been a little over 50 years since India became free and when the consitution was written. At that Sikhism was well spread all over the world and people know of Sikhs. Before India's constitution was written, Britain declared Sikhs as a martial nation. Sikhism did not start in Britain but still they declared us a martial nation. There are followers of Sikhism all over India and people know what Sikhism is, still they declared us Hindus.
