Hi, You haven't done anything wrong. The moderator's reply was so great! Its not your parents fault they reacted this way, society just doesn't let people live their lives. They are afraid if the word get outs, their image is ruined but most importan YOUR image is ruined. Our parent can't help but act the way they do some time. If your boyfriend is oK with this then his parents may want to approach your parents, and sit down and sort it through. I think if they come ask for your hand in marraige (the traditional way) that might be a starting point. Engagement or a promise to marry maybe a compromise that can be worked out. Parents have more experience they don't want to see you get hurt in a relationship, therefore they r "forcing" u to get married to him right away. So see what his family can offer, you can always get married at end of studies and getting jobs etc. I mean whats the point of being married but being dependent on your parents? Explain that to them.
