hi, im a high school student from southern california, and even though I don't have hair or anything of the sort, I know sikhism like the back of my hand. I have studied sikhism and analyzed it to the fullest, and I am proud to be sikh, even though most people say IM not a true sikh, but enough of that, I am a sikh. I have one question that I've had a really hard time to answer, and today in one of my classes I was talking about sikhism and our beliefs. The discussion came out of the recent clonning discovery. So we go into the creation story for different religons, and christianity believes in the adam and eve story. But I was going through the archives and you answered one question saying that "creative energy" created the world, and you ignored the process in which this world and human beings came to be. So if it is possible can you please tell me what our creation story is. How did this world came to be? How did humans came to be? How did we get here? as christians have their story, I want to know ours, Thank you.

Sat Sri Akal,

Waheguru has always been. Waheguru did not come into existence suddenly, Waheguru was just always there. Waheguru will never go away. No one really knows how the world/universe came to be, but scientists have postulated the Big Bang theory which we can take to be how it really happened. Humans came to be through evolution which seems to be a pretty strong idea. How can you personally figure out how the world started? Pray on the name of Waheguru and your understanding of the world will increase exponentially.

When answering to non-Sikhs, you can say the Sikhs believe that there is one God that has always been there. He set things in motion at some point and then the big bang happened, the earth was created, evolution took place and here we are as humans now. Unlike christianisty, Sikhi does not have stories to explain every facet of our life. As a Sikh, the closer you become to Waheguru the more you will understand every facet of our life and world. Remember, Sikhi is the only religion where you can actually merge with God while still alive.

Gur Fateh,
HSD
