Summary of Question: | Guru Granth Sahib Alive? |

I asked a question earlier but I did not understand the response, what I want to know is whether the Sri Guru Granth Sahib feels hot or cold in the physical sense? Should it be under AC in Summer and heating in winter, should there be a fan near the Guru Granth for a cool breeze in Gudwaras.
Is the Guru Granth Sahib really alive, like a living human Guru? because it does not have heart, mind body etc.
and if it is alive, how many Guru Granth Sahibs are there, because there are so many Guru Granths in the world, some even have them in there Garages, and closets, are all of them alive or only the one in Golden Temple?
and finally the computer internet contains the Guru granth sahib in many versions online, should this is treated as a Guru, as the computer with the internet has all the information of Guru's and other saints and religions, should this be our new Guru (i.e. Computer)?
thanks

Sat Siri Akaal. Siri Guru Granth is not alive in the sense of breathing, eating, sleeping. The WORD, the BANI lives in that it is ageless and timeless. It is accessed by being recited, but any sacred book that contains and is honored as the Holy Word holds a vibration much higher than, say, a math book or story book.
SGGS does not need A/C or heat, UNLESS the bir is old and needs special conditions in order to preserve it (which is something an old/rare books expert would know about). However, the person reading from SGGS should be comfortable.
There is only ONE Siri Guru Granth Sahib, replicated in many birs (books) around the world. Do not confuse yourself over this. The Gurmukhi CONTENT of Siri Guru Granth Sahib is the same wherever one is. (Translations vary, but the original is the same everywhere.)
When reading SGGS on the computer/internet or taking hukum from SGGS via electronic means, the person doing so should have their head covered and their shoes off, ideally. The computer itself does not need to be treated as SGGS. I highly suggest you get a recording of SGGS (on tape or CD, they are out there) and LISTEN to it. Because it is not just WHAT SGGS says, it's also how it is said: the sound current is just as important. Listen carefully and meditatively and hold that sound in your being, and you will see what I mean. Then do a sehej paath. Experience the vibration for yourself. Guru ang sang,
