Summary of Question:A Sikh Or Not A Sikh??

I think it is perfectly ok to be happy with what you believe in. Living in the UK and having a hair cut often causes hostility and questions are posed by Gurusikhs who question people like me/monay's that "are you a sikh or you are not a Sikh?"

I say very proudly I was born from A Sikh mother and father, brought up in a sikh way of life, my belief is as strong as any one. Instead I certainly get constant reminders in conversation and by Gianis at the Gurudwaras that we(people with hair cuts) are not Sikh.I take great offence to this as Sikhism is a belief, a way of life and about our spiritual relationship with the Gurus. I fully understand and know I am not a Gurusikh nor an Amritdhari. Do they?

Sat Siri Akaal. No, they do not.
From what you tell me, you ARE a Gurusikh in your heart, though not Amritdhari. If people cannot see your heart, oh well. Guru knows your heart. That is why no Sikh should question the devotion of anyone who bows before Guru, because we really do not know. Yes, actions speak louder than words, but one's relationship with Guru is very personal, and no one can really judge it accurately by having hair or not.
