Summary of Question: | Why Not Eat Meat ? |

I have already asked a question about why we should not eat meat? I am a pure Sikh myself. I have been interested in Sikh Philosophy since I was 5 years old. I have also studied philosophy at Sikh Missionary Center when I was living in India. I have a question that has always bugged me. I know that we are not allowed to eat meat but that is simply because animals are living beings just like us and killing them is similar to killing just any other person. It puts the weight of karma on our souls and we have to reincarnate. If that's the reason then why did some of the Guru's hunted animals? (Sorry, I'm not trying to say that Guru's are wrong. In fact I respect every Guru in our religion.)
I also understand that we are not allowed to cut hair but Guru Gobind Ji asked us (Sikhs) to keep hair as symbol so that we could be distinguished among other people during the Muslim-Sikh war. There is no war going on any more so why do we still have to keep hair. On the other side hair or Dastar are a physical symbol that are suppose to distinguish us from other people but if God made us equal why do we need to keep this symbol (hair). If this symbol is to show others that we are Sikhs then it shouldn't matter if we have hair or not because people are not going to decide if we will achieve salvation or not it's God who is going to decide that.
I was reading a book on Sikh Philosophy and the author wrote all these scientific reasons for keeping hair but I find these explanations unacceptable. One of the chapters explained how hair produces Vitamin D when exposed to sunlight. Is the author saying that people of other religions like Hindus don't get enough Vitamin D? I personally think that there is some other reason to why we should not cut hair and we just haven't discovered it yet.
If anybody is offended by these thought's of mine than I would like to apologize. I am not trying to prove anybody wrong these are just questions that come to mind and I would be very thankful of you if you answer my questions.

The Guru's had a deep understanding of the karma's and relationships of those animals to themselves. They were very conscious and careful to do only God's will.
The hair is part of the body system. It is antenna to the radiant and auric body. The Rehit maryada is a system for highly functioning elevated human beings. To be masterful in the physical plane and in the spiritual plane is the object of this system. If you are cutting your hair you are cutting your surrender to your auric strength and radiant strength.
When you are immersed in this type of mental doubt and questioning you are not relating to the actual practice of the Rehit system. This system elevates the practitioner not the skeptic. The Rehit Maryada is a sophiticated and subtle experience of human expansion into infinite realms. This comes from deep meditation and daily discipline. Try it rather than talk about it.
