I would like to know what daily Sikh spiritual practices I can add to my sadhana?
Blessings,
Varuna
(REPLY) Since you started your message with Sat Nam, I'm presuming you are already doing an hour of chanting (7 different mantras?) in the Amrit Vela. If this is correct, then you would add the reading of the banis every day (starting your sadhana with Japji Sahib,) then reading (aloud) the others at the times recommended.(If you need details about which ones, and where to find them, kindly email back your question.) Ideally, you complete your morning sadhana by attending Gurdwara. the Siri Guru Granth Sahib, our Shabd Guru, plus the experience of the sadh sangat integrates all the effort you have put into your sadhana, and completes it for the morning and gets you set for the day. If there is no Gurdwara available, then try to recite Anand Sahib,AND/OR listen to a shabd, do an Ardas, and, if you have access to a Gurdwara - then you will be able to hear the Hukam, get prashad, and then go to work! Sikhs have been given four basic areas to help us strengthen our awareness of our identity as Sikhs, BANA (dressing distinctively - not cutting hair I.E. living as God made us) BANI (the prescribed daily prayers to recite) Seva SEVA(selfless service in God's Name) and SIMRAN (remembrance of God's Name.-- The more you can incorporate these into your daily life, the more you can remember SAT NAM (Truth is your Identity) and WAHE GURU (GOd is Great!) the better! May God and Guru guide you always. Blessings, SP
