Summary of Question: | Poker Games |

I was wondering if our religious teachings allow us to play poker games. Not the money games, but the tournaments. I'm fairly good at it and want to play in tournaments. My parents say its gambling so I shouldnt play the game, but was wondering about the tournement games where its not money and they play for the game itself. Just a bit confused about what sikhy has to say about it.
thanks

Sat nam. Tournaments are still gambling. I know they are about skill. If you are using tournaments to make a living, you are gambling. If you have a regular full time job and do the tournaments on the side and do not use up your regular earnings to play the tournaments, then it's not technically gambling, but it's a fine line here. In the end, the choice is yours and about your relationship to the Guru's teachings.
