I dun have a question but just wanted to get something out that has been bothering me. Ihave been following this forum for some time and it is sometimes so heartbreakin to hear about some problems sikhs face this days. The issue of keeping hai would never have surfaced 40 yrs ago yet today our own sikh family is telling us to cut our hair. Why is that we have lost sooo much of our faith and identity the last decades? In punabi school, my classmates will laught when sikh histor is told. why? We even feel shy that we are sikhs. I have a school mate who moans that she is a sikh. She woul rather be an idian(hindu) then a sikh. Boys readily cut their hair by the time they are 13 and it is called freedom! In my opinion, i beleive that it all boils down to the lack of pride in our sikhi. Look at the muslimd and christians. They are very proud of our identity and make hemselves known ad a muslim or christian. We sikhs are very far behind in this. Perhaps we can use this forum to build up sikhi in our everyday lives and adversly others. Forget abt being a perfect sikh or whther u are holier than the next sikh. Just know u identity and have the love for our waheguru and our gurus. Being a sikh will come naturally after that.
I am very sorry if i ahve caused anyone any anger or distress. This has een bothering me for a long time. My apologies.
